Four Points Adventures: All Inclusive Overland Tour of Death Valley

1 Day Overland Training and Trail Drive, Reno NV.

A trail drive and training going up the Jumbo Grade 4x4 trail to the historic mining town of Virginia City (the same one mentioned in the old western TV show called Bonanza and others). This training is meant for the beginner, though even the well seasoned overlander may learn a thing or two! You'll learn the basics of 4x4 driving, your vehicle and how it works, how to negotiate various standard trail obstacles, how to get yourself "unstuck" and other important things to know when you are in "the outback". Each vehicle is provided with a radio so we can keep in touch along the trail and so that you can learn some basic radio functions and etiquette too.

Description:

We'll start at the Jumbo Grade OHV parking lot with introductions and learning some basics about each of your vehicles. Then we'll start our drive, learning along the way how to negotiate trail obstacles such as creek crossings, off-camber situations, and I'll demonstrate a basic winching recovery.

We'll finish in Virginia City with a stop at one of the famous saloons to allow for any additional questions and chat with the new friends we've made during the day:)

The Day Includes:

Professional 4x4 guidance, training, and safety while negotiating a typical 4x4 trail and its obstacles.

Vehicle Options:

1. A 4x4 vehicle (NOT All-Wheel-Drive) with a low-range transfer case and must have at least 8 inches of ground clearance and AT or MT rated tires and a FULL SIZE spare tire and the tools to change it.

2. There are a variety of 4x4 rental vehicle options, and I have partner companies you can rent these from with a discount. However, please confirm with us first the type of vehicle you will be renting before renting it.

For this adventure you must also bring along:

Closed toed shoes, work gloves, and a small tarp or blanket to lay on the ground, sack lunch and a good community attitude. You will be sent a more comprehensive list once you sign up.
